I've had this for a year now, and it works great. Very quiet and really cools off the kitchen well. On low fan speed, the refrigerator is noisier than the air conditioner. I also got a lower power one for the bedroom. The timer function is great for coming home to a cool house.

It cools between 350 to 500 square feet and has a highly effective construction for an efficient use of energy. The unit is controlled by a straightforward soft-touch digital panel on the front or operated with a remote control. Its settings include cool, economy, fan, and dry, and a temperature range from 60 to 86 degrees F. In addition, the unit features three fan speeds and a four-way air distribution system to maximize circulation. One of its best features is the 12-hour on/off timer, which lets you program it to turn on when you come home from work or to power down after you fall asleep. For easy maintenance and installation, the unit comes with an intake grille, a left-right power cord, and a slide-out chassis.
