I bought this pot BECAUSE of the nice review it got. But when I received the product and put it to the test, I was very, very disappointed!!
First, you CANNOT change the "first" boiling temperature!?! So even if you have the choice between 140,180,190 or 208 F, when you plug the pot, it will start to boil the water to 190 no matter what! (and this is the way it work according to the manual page 18). Now imagine, that YOU want the water at 180 for a nice green tea, you will have to WAIT for 0.5 and 1 HOUR before it reach that temperature (and 3.5 to 4.5 hour to reach 140 F)! Are you kidding me Panasonic!? BTW, I test it and it took 1 hour to get there! So when you do this for the first time, you are in front of the machine waiting for the LED to stop flashing (indicating that the water have reach the temperature you dial-in). Now after 30 min., you start to think that the machine is broken somehow. Then you site down and start reading the manual (you got plenty of time with this machine) and realize that this is for real! So, for my use, this product is useless! If you want a fast pot that get you water at 180 in 3 minutes (yes 3 minutes not 60 min .) go for the Cuisinart PerfecTemp. It's sleek and fast!

I bought this pot last year in August, and the lid of the pot go rust in just two month. The lid was shown made by stainless steel, then I contact with the customer service. They let me send this pot back to Panasonic, after two weeks, we gave me a funny evaluation about some tea residue found inside the thermol pot.
Doesn't it sound funny, why would someone bother to put the tea in the pot. Doesn't everyone just put the tea bag in the cup and get the boiling water from the pot? Plus everyone use the fork and knife everyday, do they also go rust, never!!!
I write this review not only for the bad product, but also for the even worse customer service!!!From now on , I would never buy a single panasonic product.
