Customer Review: Great product - Lousy Company

We just got this microwave. So far, it works well. We are very satisfied with the appliance. However, if you plan to buy an extended warranty from panasonic, they will not sell you one on a product purchased through Amazon. They said that since many Amazon products are pre-owned (true), they will not offer extended warranties. Even though our microwave is new, Panasonic will not allow us to buy an extended "Customer Care Plan". I'm not sure they will even honor the manafacturer's warranty. Great product, but heaven help you if you have to deal with Panasonic!

Panasonic NN-C980W Features 4-Way Cooking, Multi-Lingual Menu-Action Screen, Convection Cooking (9 Categories), One-Touch Sensor Cooking (9 Categories)Loaded with features, this combination microwave and convection oven provides a family with lots of cooking options at the touch of a button. The oven has a 1.5-cubic-foot interior, 1100 watts of power, and a 15-inch turntable. Its microwave performance is bolstered by technology that eliminates the "pulsing" of 100-percent power and idleness to achieve different power levels. This oven's features include a keep-warm key to prevent overcooking (great for soup, gravy, and desserts); "turbo" defrosting; a menu-action screen that can be set for English, Spanish, or French; "smart" cook and reheat capacities to adjust power levels and cooking times for various foods; a Quick Minute button for adding to preset cooking times; and a popcorn setting.
The convection oven performs as would a full-size oven, baking cakes and pies, roasting poultry and meats, cooking casseroles, and broiling burgers, fish, and steaks. The oven weighs 46 pounds.
