Customer Review: Great little but powerful microwave

I searched for a while for a smaller (0.8 Cub. feet) microwave that not only heats the food evenly but also has a simple interface and a good look. I ordered through amazon and it came in a few days with UPS ground. The box had been damaged by a sharp cut on one f the edges, however, luckily the oven was not damaged. It looks great in the kitchen and it occupies much less room. The interface is pretty simple and easy to use and the knob is great compared to punching on a keypad which I always disliked.
People had complained about the LED display where it is not readbale form tilted angles. I knew this before I ordered (it was not a show stopper). However for those who have problem with this, here is the solution: Just stay away from the display by about 2.5 feet or more and the display is visible from a much wider angle and it is easily readable. Though Panasonic should have used a better quality LED display, but as I mentioned that issue goes away if you keep a 2.5 feet or more distance to read the display. I guess some of the people using it are looking at the display from close distances and experience that issue. So if you are near sighted and do not have your glasses or lenses, this could drive you crazy. For others it should be just fine.

Plumped for the Panasonic after spending a couple of hours reading reviews here at Amazon and elsewhere, and about one month in I'm still 100% happy with our choice.
We were looking for something under $100 that would serve daily duty cooking veggies and soups, reheating meals and the occasional warmed cup of coffee.
The microwave looks great, the controls are very straightforward and fast to use (single or minimal touch options like "quick min" or reheat - selecting number of servings with the dial). Even the LED clock isn't that hard to see unless you are right on top of it, and it's not really been an issue.
This microwave looks great and does everything we want in a slick and well thought out way. As an added bonus, Panasonic has been around for ages and I've had good experiences wtih their stuff in the past.
There are cheaper microwaves out there, but this is good value for this price range and wattage and I would definitely recommend it.

I have been using this Panasonic NN-SD377S for about three months, and have loved it from the first day. It is a bit higher priced than others of this size, but the features, the design, and the workmanship make it the best value. The neatest feature is its ability to execute chained functions, signaling when each has been completed. It gives you two beeps after each action, then five beeps when it finishes completely. The clock remains illuminated whether you are using the microwave or not, and it reverts to the current time after it finishes all the countdowns. The case is sturdy and has a clean design. I think the timer control--which is an easily-rotated knob--is a significant improvement over the 10-button numeric keypad found on other microwaves. I purchased this countertop Panasonic Microwave after a similar size one
by another brand name simply stopped working after two years.
This Panasonic model is attractively appointed in stainless steel. The
cooking is controlled by push buttons and a dial rather than the usual
touch controls seen on most microwaves. The controls on this model are
more precise and easy to operate.
Cooking, defrosting and simple pleasures like popcorn are rendered flawless.
While a bit more expensive than other brand models, this Panasonic appears
to live up to its brand name heritage.

I purchased this microwave to replace an older and larger one. This one is PERFECT!! It is small but powerful. I was afraid of two things after reading other reviews: 1. I would not be able to read the clock. This is simply not true or Panasonic has corrected the problem. I can read it just fine from any angle...a non-issue. 2. Since it has less watts, it would take too long to heat stuff up...again not a problem. I use the same times that I used on my older oven and it heats the same. This microwave takes up much less counter space and looks great.
