Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Panasonic NN-SD377S 0.8 cuft, 800 Watt Stainless Steel Microwave Oven, Auto Cook

Customer Review: A Little Too Noisy
Summary: 3 Stars

I had a compact Samsung microwave for 11 years and I loved it. Unfortunately, it recently started making horrible noises when it ran and I knew that the end was near. After reviewing a ton of different compact microwaves and all the comments that people had made I decided on the 800-Watt Panasonic. It works fine and has the same functionality as my old microwave. I think it might heat up things a little bit quicker than my Samsung. The downside is that it is noisier than my previous microwave (especially right when it starts cooking), the digital time is hard to see unless you are standing right in front of the machine and it only came in a stainless steel finish. The stainless steel shows a ton of fingerprints which is really annoying. Not a bad machine, but I miss my Samsung.

Customer Review: Can't read display
Summary: 3 Stars

I agree completely with the reviewer from Pasadena: a nice stylish little microwave with a glaring oversight!
I can't see how a "counter-top" microwave got approved by Panasonic where you can't read the display unless you are exactly eye-level with the machine. Everything else is good, especially the "turn-knob" interface. Too bad you have to stoop down two feet to read what the dial is set to. A truly irritating design flaw on a nice little device.

Customer Review: Good enough i suppose
Summary: 3 Stars

It's a good product, but it is reaaaally slow heating! I think you would be a lot times better just spending a little bit more in a better microwave, or not being afraid of buying an unkown brand like Emerson, like I was.

I guess I wouldn't recomend it.

Customer Review: Short-Lived Microwave
Summary: 2 Stars

Purchased this microwave from Amazon in June, 2010, and it just died after only 6 months of use. Don't know why; in my experience most microwaves have about a 3-5 year lifespan. I don't see myself purchasing another Panasonic product.

Customer Review: Broke within 6 weeks!
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this microwave to replace an older Panasonic model, which we'd had for 6 years. We were really happy with the old one, and so immediately ordered the another Panasonic. We were initially disappointed with the power - only 800watts compared to the previuos one which was 1300watts - but figured that was our own fault for choosing a lower power. (Panasonic no longer make a small countertop microwave with over 1000watts).
However, after just 6 weeks, the microwave stopped working properly. We took it to a repair shop as it is still under warranty, but a week later and we still have no microwave because the part that is needed to fix it is on backorder!
Very disappointed that a new product could malfunction in such a short time.
