Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Panasonic NN-SD767S 1.6-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless SteelCustomer Review: Didn't think I would like it at first Summary: 5 Stars
This is a replacement for a Sharp microwave that lasted about about seven or eight years.
Hubby liked it and suggested it to me. I took a peek at it and wasn't particularly impressed, but about three weeks into owning it, I'm really pretty happy with it.
The pop-out button was a concern, as I was afraid that all that popping in and out would break it, but it's unobtrusive enough that I can leave the button out and not have to worry about it breaking.
The size is a little smaller and the wattage is a little higher than my old microwave and I was afraid I would burn stuff in it, but that hasn't happened so far.
What I really love....it's quiet. Quieter than my other oven, anyway. The "Turbo defrost" is fantastic. My other microwave never got it right. More times than not, the inside of whatever I was trying to defrost (ground meat, for example), would still be frozen on the inside, but the corners would be slightly cooked. And I would have to keep going back to turn and rotate the food, even though it did have a turntable. With this microwave, everything I've defrosted has come out nearly thoroughly defrosted, with no "cooked" parts on the outside, and it does it in one process. Just enter the weight and let it do its stuff.
The Sensor Reheat is great too. Again, with my other microwave, it would come out either cooked instead of merely reheated, or cold in spots. No need to enter a weight here...the oven senses the steam or something coming from the food and knows when to shut off.
The interior is smaller than my previous oven, but really it's still large enough for what I put in it. Maybe my old one was just too big...
I have the stainless steel, which looks nice, even in my sort of Farmhouse/cabin style kitchen.
The setup instructions are simple, and operation is just as simple.
So far, I'm happy with it and look forward to using it for as many years as my old oven.
