This is a great product!When I got my first microwave, it came with a series of classes, and I learned to cook everything, even the Thanksgiving turkey, in the microwave. As a result, when the time came to replace it, I needed a full size microwave.
Most of the microwaves I saw were not only small, they had much less features than the one I was used to. I was very afraid that I would have to modify or give up some favorite recipes. I knew that there were new features in the new microwaves though that I would enjoy.
I expected to be pleased with this one. The power was higher than my old one (and the old microwave must have been more than 15 years old, so was working at lots less than the rated power). I thought that I might lose some features (my old microwave had memory for two cooking stages and a really useful sensor attachment), as most of the new microwaves seem to focus on defrosting, reheating, and popcorn.
WOW! I was so surprised! The new features (like pushing one button for a minute) were great. The popcorn setting makes perfect microwave popcorn. I didn't expect that the built in sensor (no attachment!) and the different cooking settings (everything from frozen dinners to baked potatos to oatmeal) would be so versatile. The final surprise came when I read about the memory for multiple cooking stages (up to 9!)

A luxurious 2.2 cubic feet in size, this stainless-steel finish Panasonic microwave provides ample room, versatile programming, and finely tuned cooking power. One of its most attractive features is the Inverter cooking technology. While many microwaves deliver lower power levels by firing full force, then letting food sit while the clock winds down, Panasonic's Inverter models actually adjust power output for the full duration of cooking time. The result is 10 true power levels, more even cooking, and minimal icy or hot spots. Inverter Turbo defrost also dramatically reduces defrosting time and produces more consistent results. To complement the Inverter technology, this oven features the Genius sensor to automatically adjust cooking power and time for up to 18 one-touch food categories. You can also manually program cooking times or cook by food weight or quantity. Other indispensable functions include the popcorn, quick-minute, and keep-warm buttons, as well as menu prompter cues to help you get up to speed on programming. Panasonic also builds in a multilanguage display, adjustable word speed, a child-safety lock, a delay-start function, and a kitchen timer.
