Customer Review: Hot Rice On Tap
Summary: 5 Stars

No more freezing, storing and reheating left over rice. Hot rice is always available whenever to top off with Furukake, chili, pickled onions, sardines, scrambled eggs with green onions, tofu, lomilomi salmon, leftovers, kim chee, or just a single baby ume. What's a spaghetti dinner without a side dish of hot rice? After a month of experimenting with it, it has met all my tests, including the half brown and half white rice test. Easy to wash pot and detachable cover's lid. I'm very satisfied, so I ordered two (2) more from Amazon.

My only complaint is why does Panasonic continue to advise the archaic practice of washing and rinsing rice? Fifty years ago this practice was discouraged by nutritionist as unnecessary and wasteful, since the rice was enriched and all the nutrients were being washed down the sink.

Customer Review: Great With Quinoa
Summary: 5 Stars

We just upgraded from a very old Sanyo rice cooker to the Panasonic. While it does take longer to cook in the Panasonic, the results are super. I have cooked white medium grain rice and quinoa in it. Both cooked perfectly. I just finished cooking 5 cups of quinoa (with water added to the 5 cup line). I cooked the quinoa on the White/Sticky Rice setting, and it took 50 minutes to complete. I had some bubbling of water through the top vent, so maybe I pushed it a little too far regarding quantity. My cleanup was a little more than normal, but still very easy. Next time I will limit it to 4 cups, max. But the quinoa was great and no burned Quinoa at the bottom of the pan. Love it!

Customer Review: Great product!
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't believe we've had this over a year now! This is really a great product, does what it says and does it well.

I got this rice cooker because of the fuzzy logic and it's ability to steam plus do dark rices. I've even cooked Kasha (buckwheat groats) in here, which come out fabulous. I haven't been disappointed so far and it has held up well. I thought I ruined it, accidentally poured in some product thinking the pot was still in it. I disassembled it and cleaned, worked as good as new.

Well made and much cheaper than one sold at a market like Ranch99. This was reviewed as being the next best to several of the expensive Japanese models.

Customer Review: Happy
Summary: 5 Stars

I received this rice cooker a couple days ago and tried cooking oatmeal and supper in it.
I am very happy, it's a great investment!

The oatmeal turned out nice: I mixed apples, grapes, oats and water in the pot at night. And had a perfect fruit-flavored porridge with nicely baked fruits by the time I got up in the morning.

For supper I made white rice and steamed salmon steak at the same time. The most delicious rice and fish I've ever had! I can't believe I spent only 2 minutes preparing it!!
Looking forward to cooking more stuff in my magic pot =)

Customer Review: Works just fine, relatively small capacity
Summary: 5 Stars

Wow, so hard to pick a rice cooker; so many options and so many good reviews. Picked this one I'm not sure why, and it's been really good, the rice comes out wonderfully. Big difference compared to steaming in a saucepan, in case you're wondering if you should buy a rice cooker at all. White rice does take a full 45 minutes to cook, which is longer than steaming it, but still worth it. Note their "cup" measure is only about 3/4 of the standard USA 8 oz. cup. Brown rice capacity is just a little over 2 cups (raw). Only drawback is it has an aluminum cooking pan, but it's hard to find one that does not.
