Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Panasonic SR-TMB10 5-1/2-Cup Rice Cooker/Warmer, SilverCustomer Review: Pleased with slow cooking, too Summary: 5 StarsAs everyone else has already said, this rice cooker does well with white and brown rice. I like the slow cooker function too. It's simple to use: Choose the "slow cook" mode, set the cooking timer and hit start. The cooker will switch to a "warm" setting at the end of the cooking time.
I use it to cook boneless, skinless chicken breasts in about a cup or so of broth for 8 hours. Cooking the chicken this way results in a tender, flavorful meat that I use in making a chicken salad spread. I think it's far better tasting than boiled chicken.
Another favorite recipe is beef tips with rice: Cut a 1 1/2- to 2-pound sirloin tip roast into chunks and brown them in a skillet. Add browned meat to the cooker. Mix a package of McCormick brown gravy mix and deglaze the skillet with it before adding to meat in the cooker. Slow cook for 8 hours and serve over rice.
Customer Review: Great rice cooker Summary: 4 StarsI have been using this rice cooker for nearly two years now. It makes tasty white rice and brown rice. The steaming feature is good as well. I tried to make rice porridge once using the slow cook function but it was not successful. I have not yet tried the cake feature just because recipe is not provided with the instructions menu. I wish that they proivde some simple recipes. Overall, I'm satisfied with the rice cooker.
