Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Panasonic SRG06FG 3.3-Cup Automatic Rice CookerCustomer Review: Sweet & Simple Summary: 5 Stars
If you're looking for a cheap and easy to use rice cooker look no further.
I purchased this rice cooker on sale for somewhere between $15 and $20, and wasn't sure what I'd be getting, but it has exceeded my expectations. It's small, easy to store and clean, and makes enough rice for about two people.
I'm not a huge connoisseur or rice, so I'm not sure how it stacks up against the $100+ versions, but I've always been happy with its speed, and the quality of rice it produces. It's the perfect little machine for the "casual" rice cooker who doesn't want to spend a fortune. Overall, it is a very good product at an even better price.
Customer Review: Love it, but not gonna marry it Summary: 5 Stars
This is a simple rice cooker, no frills. It cooks rice, well at that. My girlfriend and I eat the rice, and we like it. Although it can cook rice better than my girlfriend can cook rice (she can't boil water!), my girlfriend is better at other things that the rice cooker can't do. I still prefer my girlfriend to the rice cooker.
We cook mostly basmati. Cook time seems to be shy of 30 minutes, and rice stays warm by steaming. We always cook the minimum 1 cup, adding water up to the line after adding the rice. Don't expect to get the steaming basket with this model--you gotta pay extra for those kind of novelties.
Customer Review: Awesome little rice cooker Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first rice cooker I've ever owned, and as my first experience with rice cookers - it's great. I cooks more than enough for 3 or 4 people, or two huge portions for me and my gluttonous friends! You just throw the rice in pot, fill water to a certain line according to how much rice you put in, turn in on and in no time you've got a pot of great rice. (i would recommend using a little bit more water than what they say to use to get the rice a little more fluffier).
Now I've got me a wok, and making all kinds of wonderful rice dishes... I don't know how I've gotten by so long without a rice cooker.
Customer Review: Can't live without it!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I'm living in a room w/out kitchen. This lovely rice cooker has been w/me for few months and I made rice and variety of dishes w/it. It works fast, well, and easy to clean. The steaming function is so helpful that I can boil soup and such to serve w/rice! it makes my life w/out a kitchen so much easier and wonderful, and now i don't have to go out and spend money on restaurants's food that i'm already sick and tired of!
I've been conficent w/the Panasonic's and this rice cooker w/such a great price again gain my loyalty to the brand--I LOVE this rice cooker!!!
Customer Review: Great Cheap rice cooker! Summary: 5 Stars
This rice cooker was only $18 when I bought it on this site. I only use it for myself and occasionally one other person, cooking calrose and basmati rice in it. After owning it for a year and a half, I can't say that it has ever turned out a bad pot of rice (aside from my faults). Doesn't have a keep warm function, but not really needed since you can always just whip up another pot in a jiffy.
As others have said, it doesn't include a steamer, and the rice should sit there for about 10 mins before eating (so it can absorb the extra steam).
